=[ What a gorgeous Iguana I miss my Frodo but sadly he died while I was at college. And before people say he was very healthy for a mistreated Iguana. I loved hypnotizing by using his third eye ^_^

@Cerebral88
Extremely difficult. You have to be really interrested in lizards and have lots of freetime. And money of course. It’s a hard job to tame a iguana as well.

Hey reinhold175, I’ve always wanted an iguana for a pet. How difficult is it to take care of one?
6:01 pm on December 24th, 2009
yeah you don’t ever want to get whipped by a large Iguana. their tails have been known to break bones.
6:11 pm on December 24th, 2009
me too i was ganna name mine reptar
6:24 pm on December 24th, 2009
@reinhold175 no doubt you’re right as you’ve had experience with iguanas and I do not. The main thrust of my point was that while iceberg lettuce doesn’t have much nutrition, other varieties do. This advice is not only intended for iguana owners, but owners of all herbivores, be they reptiles, small mammals or birds.

Im no expert but if you handle them daily and spent heaps of time with them they will become tame however if they spend too much time on their own they will revert back to their survival instincts. i doubt that was from the iguana though it could have been. If that one was feral it would probably have been hissing and threatening her so that one seemed tame.

Actually all letuce is bad for iguanas. The best things for them to eat is mustard greens collard greens and turnip greens. Apples, pears and other fruits on occasion but not as a staple. Use the greens for the staple. I currently have 6 green iguanas and they all eat the greens as a staple. My oldest one is currently 14 and I have had him since he was 6 weeks old. Brought him home from my studies in Panama. I watched him hatch so I know him well.

Please if anyone here gets an iguana do not listen to her about their diet. Iguanas are herbavours they eat plants from the day they hatch to the day they die. Do not please do not feed them insects or any other animal matter. I have studied iguanas for the past 12 years lived with them in south america and never saw one yet eat any animal matter.
